Vircom's team of professionals will assist you to move your legacy mail server to our modusMail™ server. This service is for customers who want to purchase modusMail™ but need a way to move the user accounts (including the messages) from their old legacy mail server to modusMail, or for customers who already have modusMail but want to import an Email domain from a third party who is moving to his installation.

Who is this product for?
This service is geared towards modusMail™ customers who need mail to be moved from a legacy mail server to the modusMail™ server.
Where is the work done?
- Remotely, on your Window® Servers using a remote connection tool.
- We can work with any remote connection tool you can provide.
When is the work done?
- Whenever you want the work done: during regular business hours at usual billing rate or outside business hours for a premium (200$ extra charge).
- We need at least two-weeks notice for scheduling purposes.
- Note that the time required varies, depending on the scope and complexity of the project and must be carefully analyzed by our team. This sort of project can't be evaluated solely using a checklist. We must be involved to give a time estimate (free).

What is included with this service?
- Basic installation of modusMail™
- Install SQL Express if needed.
- Install the modus package.
- Apply best practices.
- Get it talking to billing system (if applicable).
- Sanity check to make sure all major functionalities work.
- We help populate the server on the provision that the customer has:
- all domains listed in a text file [modusMail] or mail routing info [modusGate], IN CLEARTEXT.
- all users listed in a text file (username @ domain.com,password) [modusMail], IN CLEARTEXT.
- all aliases/forwarding addresses, provided in a text file [modusMail], IN CLEARTEXT.
- We do a basic walkthrough of the application.
- We help you deploy any necessary backup processes or policies.
- Migrate the mailboxes from the old legacy server:
- If the customer has usernames & passwords in cleartext ... bulk migration
- Bulk-create domains
- Bulk-create user @ domain.com & passwords
- Bulk-create forwarding addresses and aliases
- Bulk-add whitelist/blacklist entries
- Populate user database (if needed)
- Prepare all scripts for POP3/IMAP transfer
- Migrate mailing lists and their members
- If the customer does not have usernames & passwords in cleartext ... gradual migration
- Bulk-create domains (customer must provide list)
- Prepare the domains for gradual migration
- Bulk-create forwarding addresses and aliases (customer must provide list)
- Bulk-add whitelist/blacklist entries (customer must provide list)
- Populate user database (if needed)
- POP3 migration only. The migrator only supports POP3.
- If the customer has usernames & passwords in cleartext ... bulk migration
What is not handled by this service?
- We do not configure your DNS Server, routers, firewalls or any other external software for you; we can only make recommendations.
- We do not configure your billing system or any other third party software or hardware for you [exception: MS-SQL and our databases].
- It may be possible to migrate IMAP mailboxes in the case of BULK migrations, however there is no guarantee. We can analyze the possibilities and do simulations using test mailboxes, but in principle we only do POP3 migrations.
- We do not migrate anything else other than what is covered in this document.
Requirements
- Customer must be available while we perform the services, and answer any questions we may have.
- Systems must conform to our system requirements.
- Systems must have an up-to-date and supported operating system (all Windows® Updates must be applied ahead of time)
- Systems must have latest .NET Framework installed (and associated updates).
- A place to store the backups that we will put in place.
