Live Quarantine View from Outlook

As an Outlook add-on module for modusGate™ or modusMail™, directQuarantine™ provides end-user control of quarantined emails directly from Outlook.

Deployment

The directQuarantine™ Server is installed on the same server or virtual server as modusGate™ or modusMail™ and integrates naturally within your existing infrastructure. directQuarantine™ Server provides a service layer between Email Clients and modusGate™ or modusMail™ server. directQuarantine™ Client is a Microsoft® Outlook add-on and is easily deployed through Active Directory Group Policy with a single install package for all Outlook versions 2003, 2007, and 2010. directQuarantine also supports various environments for service providers.


Easy directQuarantine GPO Deployment (View Details)

Step 1: Installing directQuarantine Server

• Copy the dQ Server.msi file onto modusGate or modusMail server and click to execute it (modusGate can be on a physical server or VM).

Step 2: Configure the IP address and port number in Active Directory The directQuarantine Client communicates with dQ Server via a web service, using the modusGate or modusMail server IP and the default port number (9000). This information must be configured in Active Directory:

• Create a new ActiveDirectory user “vircomDqServer” and type the IP:port in the “IP Phone” field

Step 3: Deploy the GPO .Net Framework 4.0 is required on the client but is not included in the client install files; it will have to be deployed separately. A single directQuarantine GPO deployment will handle installation on all Outlook versions (2003/2007/2010):

• In the ActiveDirectory Group Policy Management, create a new OU for the directQuarantine users, or use an existing OU
• Right click the OU and Create a new GPO
• Enter the full path filename of the directQuarantine Client in the GPO’s software installation package
• Set the deployment options (Advanced, Assigned, Install application at logon)
